In Kingston 2025, Hayes was invited by Kingston Museum and Kingston Heritage Service as a community artist–researcher, to work with children on a project supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The role involved delivering a series of workshops in local schools, the museum, and at the public event Athel’s Town and River Culture Festival. The workshops focused on Community Mapping and Object Narrative, bringing together the stories of over 1,000 young people to explore themes of cultural identity, belonging, and heritage within the local community. The project also contributed to the first-hand data collection and research development of Hayes’s ongoing PhD study at Kingston School of Art.
